OUR WORK

Since 2008, we have adopted 7 schools in Goregaon having Below Poverty Level (BPL) students. These schools are:

1. Student Academy High School: Patel Nagar/ Indira Nagar, Off Film City Road, Goregaon East, Mumbai - 400097

2. Smt. Ashabai Tulashiram Ware High School: 5, Film City Road, Jai Bhim Nagar, Goregaon East, Mumbai - 400065

3. Pranav Vidya Mandir High School: BMC Colony, H Ward, Santosh Nagar, Goregaon East, Mumbai – 400065

4. Saraswati Vidya Mandir High School: BMC Colony, Sector B, Santosh Nagar, Goregaon East, Mumbai – 400065

5. Harsh High School: Moracha Pada, Unit No 30, Aarey Milk Colony, Shivaji Nagar, Goregaon East, Mumbai – 400065

6. Harnai Vidyalay: Santosh Nagar-Goregaon East, Mumbai – 400065

7. Gurukul Vidyalay: A K Vaidya Marg, Goregaon East, Mumbai - 400063

• As well as improving their overall academic curriculum, we have also set up IT labs and science centres in these schools and regularly distribute uniforms, bags, shoes, study material etc. All 7 schools now have e-learning facilities.

•We have made a significant improvement in the infrastructure of these schools. Proper buildings were constructed in place of dilapidated structures and for the first time ever, each school was fitted with 6 toilets each.

•Students from the above ‘slum’ schools have gone on to become engineers, nurses, teachers, bankers etc. Some have started their own businesses. In 2020, one of our ex students cleared for MBA in IIM.

•The Balwadi in Vanicha pada that we started in 2009 has not seen a single dropout and the first batch of students are now in 8th standard, with one of them representing the state of Maharashtra in wall climbing (the first ever from a tribal background).

•5 of our 7 schools have the midday meals scheme to discourage dropouts and we’re working on doing the same for the others.
